This event is in the past.

Promos are the billboard for films and television on radio, TV and film. The techniques and energy used for promos are different than commercial copy and it's important for any V/O actor to understand the difference. This four week professional level class will provide you with an in-depth introduction to the world of Promo Voice Overs. Delve into the stylistic specifics, details and trade requirements of this lucrative and competitive genre. With plenty of booth time, you'll begin to polish your approach and learn what it takes to nail the read when the pressure is on. Bryant will also mix your takes in the V/O booth in real time so that you can hear exactly how you would be paired up with music and either the TV show or movie you're pitching. Each week, you will also be emailed these takes as MP3's. Bryant Falk is your guy on the inside! As a professional voice over and on-camera commercial and corporate producer and director for 15 years, he has produced and directed spots, promos and corporate campaigns for clients such as Foot Locker, Bloomberg, Walmart, Avastin, AMC, Bloomberg, MTV, The NBA and many, many more. Bryant coaches and records for some of the top names in the voice over industry, including Steve Kamer (Inside Addition), Aaron May (NBC Sports) and Steve Zirinkilton (Law & Order). With his company Abacus Audio, he has crafted over 1000 of the industry's highest quality and unique demos. Class Testimonials: "The best v/o class I've taken anywhere - you really get your money's worth!" -Robert Eckard "I really loved the class, particularly the class size so that we could do 2 promos per week & also get several cracks at it & Bryant's feedback & opportunities to do it several times. Bryant is an excellent teacher & obviously knows the business. I'm looking forward to future classes!" -Jami Simon "Bryant provided both the helpful direction for the art of Promo voice-over, as well as the important insight of someone who's been on both sides of the voice-over booth. Perspective from both angles is invaluable. There exist intricacies and a distinction of specifically *promo* voice-over delivery, and Bryant honed in on that, in order for us to learn about the tools we need going forward in pursuing a career in that field. I loved the amount of mic time I got (two pieces of copy a class), and mixing/editing with music for some spots, in order to hear how a finished product may sound." -Amuche Chukudebelu "I wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying the Promos - Pitching TV Shows and Film Voice-Over Class with Bryant Falk. I have taken many classes and seminars at Actors Connection as well as other studios and Bryant taught a few techniques I have never heard before. He is a great communicator, extremely encouraging and a nice guy in general. He took the time to listen to my Commercial demo and offered some positive criticism as well as suggest we work on one of my spots during the next class. He understood where my weaknesses were and was very encouraging and not overly critical. I am looking forward to the next 3 classes! Thanks for continuing to bring great people and new classes to Actors Connection." -Wendy Purcell
