Congratulations to Judy on her Nomination for Excellence in Casting! Judy brings years of casting experience to this evening where she'll be working with you on what it takes to book roles in Television and Film.

Judy will select sides based on your HS/resume submission which you will be emailed and prepare in advance. You'll start off with a Q&A, then Judy will be working on-camera using the pre-read format with a reader in a group. Be prepared for feedback and to take re-adjustments on the fly.

Judy has been casting in New York City since 1993. Film credits include: NO ALTERNATIVE, BLOCK ISLAND, DWARVES OF DEMREL, HURRICANE BIANCA, LOST CAT CORONA, ELI MORAN, & GOLD STAR. Recent theater credits include: BIRDS OF EAST AFRICA (Kitchen Theater Co in Ithaca) & A DAY BY THE SEA (Mint Theater Co/Austin Pendleton). She received an Artios Award nomination for her casting of the webseries KARL MANHAIR: POSTAL INSPECTOR. In the past, she has cast audiobooks for Simon & Schuster, and TV series for Carsey-Werner. She also did the NY casting for MEAN GIRLS and SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE. Casting on Broadway and off, she currently casts for the Partial Comfort, Project Y, Merrimack Rep, Woolly Mammoth Theater Co, Dorset Theatre Festival, Kitchen Theatre Company, & San Francisco Playhouse. She is an adjunct Asst. Professor at Columbia University Film School's MFA program, and is a former faculty member at Harlem School of the Arts. www.judybowmancasting.com

Judy Bowman

Casting since 1993, Judy is a NY based casting director who concentrates on film & theater and has also cast several webseries, animated projects, and commercials. She was nominated for an Artios Award for Best Webseries Casting for "Karl Manhair: Postal Inspector".  

Recent feature film casting:  "Block Island", "No Alternative", & "Love and Everything in Between". 

FILM/TV: Hurricane Bianca, One Moment, Separation, Lost Cat Corona, Gold Star, Copenhagen; Redemption in Cherry Springs(Hallmark), Big Dogs(Amazon).  

RECENT THEATER:  Justice, Four Women: Nina Simone(both for Arizona Theatre Company), Antigone(Cleveland Play House), Bina’s Six Apples(CTC & The Alliance/Eric Ting), Teenage Dick(Woolly Mammoth/Huntington/Pasadena), Where We Belong(tour), Thirst(Dorset Theatre Fest/Theresa Rebeck), & several Bway/Off Bway productions.  Collaborations with Humana Festival, Merrimack, Kitchen Theatre, San Francisco Playhouse, A.R.T.

Her past work includes casting audiobooks for Simon & Schuster, several animated series and original programming (PBS, SciFiChannel) casting TV in NY for Carsey-Werner, Latin-American theater projects with INTAR and LAByrinth, co-cast David Mamet's "The Old Neighborhood" on Broadway, and was the dedicated CD for American Repertory Theatre(2003-2008).

She is an Adjunct Asst. Professor in the MFA Film School at Columbia University, and was on faculty at Harlem School of the Arts for 3 years. She is always on the cutting-edge of finding new talent, specializing in specific language skills, ethnicities, providing opportunities for ethnically and physically diverse casts. She has a hands-on approach with new clients and new projects.
