New! ACTING FOR FILM & TV: 4 Week On-Camera Class with Pete Jensen, Award-winning Screenwriter and TV Writer, Director, Teacher, and Acting Coach

Monday, April 10, 2017, 7pm ET / 4pm PT

This event is in the past.

In this new 4-week on-camera class, you'll work with Pete on Film and TV technique dealing with both auditions as well as when working on-set.

Pete will focus on you cultivating a comfort and confidence in front of the camera, while developing your instincts with breaking down scripts and scenes. You'll sharpen your intuitive skills (listening, emotional availability, working moment-to-moment), and your acting skills (playing simple intentions, playing against obvious line readings, creating images, making smart, specific choices, making believable transitions). Emphasis on being authentic and truthful: letting go of pre-planning, staying connected to your body and your aliveness, so you can be spontaneous and exciting to watch.

Each week, you'll shoot scenes with a reader. We'll cover techniques for cold reads, what directors look for in actors during the casting process, and rehearsal techniques to prepare scenes from contemporary Film and TV.

Pete Jensen is an award-winning screenwriter and TV writer, director, teacher, and acting coach. He holds an MFA in Film from Columbia University, where he studied theater with Anne Bogart. As an acting coach, he has helped actors and comedians book roles on TV shows such as Suburgatory, Law & Order, Gossip Girl, Party Down, and many others, as well as several independent films. He's currently in development with a TV pilot for cable TV.

Class size is limited to 14 to ensure personalized attention and plenty of time with each actor.

*** Scenes will be recorded on-camera. As a courtesy, your video clips will be made available to you within a week. An email notification will be sent when the clips are available to view and download from your Actors Connection account. Please note: from time to time technical issues do occur. As a result video clips are a courtesy, not a guarantee.***
