DC CONNECTION - 3 Day Event with SIX NY Casting Directors Coming To DC!

After another successful event in October Actors Connection is thrilled to yet again work alongside The Little Theatre of Alexandria for another fantastic weekend. The event includes SIX of NY's most noteworthy industry guests, and they're excited to work with actors in the DC market!

Actors Connection and The Little Theatre of Alexandria developed a comprehensive program that provides the actor with an unparalleled opportunity to study, train and network in a focused, supportive environment. 

Event highlights:

• Receive and prepare scenes in advance selected by the casting directors • Kick off weekend with a business of acting orientation • Perform on-camera in group format • Obtain feedback from all industry guests and participate in Q&A sessions • Receive video footage after the event (sessions professionally recorded)

The largest educational and networking studio in NYC, Actors Connection has connected young actors with leading talent agents, casting directors and personal managers since 1991. Whether an actor is seeking representation, focusing on new areas of the acting business, striving to improve auditioning skills or simply networking, Actors Connection provides all the necessary tools for success.

Alan Scott Neal, Avy Kaufman Casting Don't miss this incredible opportunity to meet and work with Alan Scott Neal who has been casting with the legendary Avy Kaufman. Currently, he's actively working on several projects including a new series. Past projects includes many features, pilots, TV series, and mini series.

Kimberly Graham, Judy Henderson Casting With years of experience casting feature films, TV projects, commercials and theater, Kimberly's credits include working with Judy Henderson on the Emmy award-winning hit Showtime series Homeland (renewed for season 6 shooting in NYC). Recent credits include the film An Hour Past A Lifetime, the web series Redheads Anonymous and It's All About Me as well as the off-Broadway play Blood Moon and Death of the Liberty Party for the New Ohio.

Barry Shapiro, Herman & Lipson Casting As every savvy commercial actor knows, many auditions are strictly improvised and in order to BOOK, you need to have this skill set down pat! Barry is an expert teacher of these kinds of auditions where there is either no copy at all or the script is partly or entirely improvised. A commercial CD for over 30 years, Barry's casting experience translates to you feeling comfortable in these kinds of auditions so that you BOOK them! He's recently cast commercials for GOOGLE, TACO BELL, McDONALDS, NFL, REVLON, MILLER BEER, DICK'S SPORTING GOODS, VOLKSWAGEN, BAYER ASPIRIN and MACARONI GRILL to name a few.

Erica Palgon, Erica Palgon Casting  Get your comedy chops on! Raise your comedic acting to a competitive, more confident level with this comedy workshop. Having trouble deciphering comedic material? Are you asking yourself ‘How do I make this funny?' Do you have stand up, improv training/experience but having difficulty applying it to scripted material? Comedic content can be dry, dark, witty, subtle, broad, campy…the list goes on and on! Learn specific tools and skills in this workshop, that will focus on accentuating and tailoring your brand of humor and comedic style to your acting. She was recently named one of the Top 25 NY Casting Directors to follow on Twitter.

Alexis Atkinson, Jonathan Strauss Casting  We're thrilled to welcome Alexis from the office that casts numerous hit series including Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, Law & Order: SVU and the CHICAGO JUSTICE spin-off! Past projects include three films: THE LENNON REPORT, NO ONE ASKED ME and CAPTAIN OF THE LAND OF MAKE BELIEVE as well as The New Group's 2014-2015 season including STICKS AND BONES, RASHEEDA SPEAKING and THE SPOILS plus several upcoming projects.

Blaine Johnston, Casting & On-Camera Teacher Blaine's background is in behind the camera & theater casting and he continues to work in various casting offices in New York City. He was the casting director for the short film Mariachi Madness and was/is a casting director for two NY theater companies, RAL Productions and Goldfish Memory Productions.
