DC CONNECTION - 3 Day Event with 6 NY Casting Directors Coming To DC!

After a successful event in February, Actors Connection is thrilled to yet again work alongside The Little Theatre of Alexandria for another fantastic weekend. The event includes NY's most noteworthy industry guests, and they're excited to work with actors in the DC market!

Actors Connection and The Little Theatre of Alexandria developed a comprehensive program that provides the actor with an unparalleled opportunity to study, train and network in a focused, supportive environment. 

Event highlights include:

The largest educational and networking studio in NYC, Actors Connection has connected young actors with leading talent agents, casting directors and personal managers since 1991. Whether an actor is seeking representation, focusing on new areas of the acting business, striving to improve auditioning skills or simply networking, Actors Connection provides all the necessary tools for success.

Ashley Ingram, Billy Hopkins Casting Ashley is a casting associate with Billy Hopkins Casting. In addition to casting the hit FOX TV series Empire, Billy Hopkins Casting recently worked on You Were Never Really Here starring Joaquin Phoenix. Past credits include: Lee Daniels' Untitled Pilot for FOX, feature films The Bleeder, Marjorie Prime, Jean of the Joneses, Cruise, Complete Unknown and Bessie for HBO as well as large commercial campaigns for Cadillac. Additional projects include: the off-Broadway world premier of In Masks Outrageous and Austere by Tennessee Williams, The Butler, the TV film Christmas with Holly, Jane Got a Gun starring Natalie Portman, 5 to 7 starring Glenn Close and Frank Langella and Experimenter starring Peter Sarsgaard and Winona Ryder.

Cesar Rocha, Telsey + Co. Cesar is a casting director at Telsey + Co. and has been with the team since 2009. His office handles the casting for the Broadway/national tours of Hamilton, Waitress, Wicked and Kinky Boots, among others. Originally from Miami, he attended the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music (CCM) in the Theatre Design and Production program concentrating in stage management. Cesar recently appeared in the Lifetime reality series Dance Moms. Telsey + Co. casting includes – Broadway/Tours: An American in Paris, Motown, Finding Neverland, Pippin, Evita, Newsies, Chaplin, Priscilla, Memphis, Rock of Ages, Bring It On, The Addams Family. Off-Broadway: Carrie (MCC), Rent, Million Dollar Quartet, Atlantic, Signature. Film: The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Friends with Kids, Margin Call, Sex and the City, Rachel Getting Married. TV: Smash, A Gifted Man, The Big C.

Rebecca Yarsin, House Casting Rebecca is a casting director at House Casting, one of the leading commercial casting offices in NY. She casts national and regional commercials (both on-camera and voiceover) and industrials as well as hosts for TV entertainment programs. Formerly a casting director for Broadway and Off-Broadway, she really has an eye for talent and loves trained actors. Some of her current clients include: Apple, ESPN, Actonel, Campbell's, Progresso, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, Dove, Wendy's, Time Warner, Cablevision, Verizon, Clean and Clear, Microsoft, HP, Walmart, Hersheys, Secret and Mastercard.

Brette Goldstein, Brette Goldstein Casting  Brette has cast over 45 independent films (including Crazy Famous and Hedgehog), 150 commercials, 100 plays and several TV and new media projects. Brette is the former co-producing director of the Washington Jewish Theatre, production manager at Washington Shakespeare Co. and associate producer of the Washington Theatre Festival. She was the resident casting director at Washington, DC's Folger Elizabethan Theatre for nine seasons. Recent film and TV credits include: Sharknado 2, The Lost Prince, The End of Mara, Space Race, Ceresia, But Not For Me, Deal Travis In and Extra Innings, Lifetime Movie Network's I Love You But I Lied, TV series Donny! on USA Network and a pilot for truTV. Recent commercial credits include: Vicks, Optimum Business and The Sparkle Campaign. Brette's films have been featured in almost every major film festival, including Sundance, Toronto, Tribeca and Cannes.

Matt Glasner, Jonathan Strauss Casting  Matt recently joined the powerhouse office of Jonathan Strauss Casting (Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD and the new Chicago Justice) after previously working with M&M Casting on the USA Network's TV series Falling Water. Prior to M&M Casting, he worked with Barden/Schnee Casting, Steppenwolf Theatre Co., Telsey + Co. and the Manhattan Theatre Club. Matt was also an assistant at Innovative Artists Talent Agency. Recent projects include The Interestings, Good Girls Revolt, The Girl on the Train, Wayward Pines (Season Two), among others. He's collaborated on Oscar and Golden Globe-winning and nominated films, which include Spotlight, August Osage County starring Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, Dallas Buyers Club starring Matthew McConaughey and Still Alice starring Julianne Moore to name a few. Other projects include: Pitch Perfect 2 directed by Elizabeth Banks, Prisoners starring Hugh Jackman, Jessica Jones, Sisters and The Judge. 

Blaine Johnston, Casting & On-Camera Teacher Blaine's background is in behind the camera & theater casting and he continues to work in various casting offices in New York City. He was the casting director for the short film Mariachi Madness and was/is a casting director for two NY theater companies, RAL Productions and Goldfish Memory Productions.
