5 Week ADVANCED On-Air Hosting Class with Patricia Stark, TV Host/Media Trainer, Patricia Stark Communications

Tuesday, May 31, 2016, 6pm ET / 3pm PT

This event is in the past.

If you're serious about a hosting career, this advanced on-camera hosting class gets deeper into all aspects of hosting your own show or segment through more intense and lengthy copy drills.

You'll be challenged by "multi-guest" studio interview drills, "multi-host" audition scenarios, on-camera "demonstration" skills i.e. recipe/how to type demos, and conquering the dreaded "tell me about yourself" audition.

You'll be challenged to think on your feet and put into just about every audition and on-camera situation you will encounter as a host. You'll hone your skills with the help of "stage manager" cues and exact "out times" you'll have to hit to get to your commercial break on time. You'll be challenged with longer teleprompter scripts, "live satellite" interviews and turning scripts into bullet points that you'll have to go "off the cuff" with. What to do with last minute guest changes, irate or unresponsive guests, how to handle props and how to sound like a seasoned host not a green one.

In your final class, you'll learn ear prompter technique. Have you ever had an audition where you had so much copy you felt you were in over your head or unprepared? With an Ear Prompter you can easily record your copy, play it back in your ear, and mimic it back as if you've known it your whole life, giving an audition that seems totally memorized or improvised. NEVER have to look away at the camera to look at that cue card again.

In one evening you'll learn: -Speaking while listening to a script in your ear -How to own the words -Basic technical aspects -Facial expressions, Cadence & timing -How to easily record last minute scripts and changes -How to use Ear Prompter quickly on location or at auditions -And how to use Ear Prompter when a traditional Teleprompter set up is not possible or desired. -How to use an Ear Prompter for Public Speaking too!
