New! THE ART OF AUDITIONING: 3 Week Television Technique Class with Rob Decina, Mackey/Sandrich Casting

Wednesday, February 17, 2016, 7pm ET / 4pm PT

This event is in the past.

After rave reviews and tons of class requests, we're thrilled to have Rob in teaching our newest on-camera audition class. A Casting Director for over seventeen years, he's auditioned, discovered and hired thousands of actors in that time. He knows what works and what gets an actor noticed in the room.

Over the course of three weeks, he'll be working with you on TV audition technique for Guest Star and Series Regular roles. His no-nonsense, honest but supportive approach is designed to maximize your results. Rob's goal is to teach you how to book the job and make the best impression in the room.

In your first class, you'll learn an Audition Technique which teaches you how to make specific choices in an effort to empower yourself in an audition. Rob will share with you specific skills on "how to stand out and book the job." A clear distinction between acting and auditioning will be covered. All actors will leave class with sides.

For your second class, you'll present those sides and an emphasis will be placed on the application of the technique from class #1. Many other audition points will be discussed and worked on including the best way to start and end an audition.

In your third class, you'll go on tape for your callback with final notes emphasizing your progress from the previous class. In addition, co-star auditions will be covered.

Rob's varied background of casting primetime, daytime, film and theater combined with his work as a Director allows him to bring a unique perspective on what it takes to book the job!

All participants will also receive his book, The Art of Auditioning: Techniques for Television, which is one of the most respected books on the topic.

Rob has almost 20 years of casting experience including ABC Family and Warner Bros. Studios where he worked on many pilots including "The West Wing" and the first season of "Third Watch". He was nominated for five Emmy Awards for his casting on the CBS daytime drama "Guiding Light". For the final two years of production, he was also a Director and has the distinction of being the credited Director for the shows final historic episode.

He has been an Adjunct Professor in Acting & Auditioning for the Camera at many colleges including: New York University - Tisch School of Drama, Pace University, Kean University and Western CT State.
