Advanced TV Intensive with John Ort, Casting Associate, Finnegan/Jacobs Casting - Casting for USA's ROYAL PAINS and an HBO pilot

Thursday, March 12, 2015, 7pm ET / 4pm PT

John Ort is currently working with Finnegan/Jacobs Casting as the associate on USA's ROYAL PAINS and an HBO pilot. They also just finished casting the first season of the new Darren Star created single camera comedy series YOUNGER for TV Land starring Hilary Duff and Sutton Foster.

For this one night on-camera intensive, John will have received your headshots and resumes in advance and cast you in a scene which you will receive prior to the intensive. The session will start off with a Q&A, then John will begin working with you and a reader ON CAMERA in a GROUP format. Be prepared for feedback and to take adjustments on the fly.

He is currently interested in meeting talent of all types and ethnicities(18+).

Previously John was the Manager of Casting at ABC Primetime NY casting series regulars for numerous pilots and currently running series. Last pilot season he was the NY covering CD on Black-ish, Secrets & Lies, The Pro and Save The Date. In addition he worked on series such as Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, Nashville, Devious Maids and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. For 7 years he oversaw the casting and production of the annual Disney | ABC Talent Diversity Showcase in NY. Independent projects include Teach Me To Sing (new musical), Luke Nicholas (Fringe '13), Ready For the Change (April '12), Hello, My Name Is Billy (Fringe '11), Over and Over (Fringe '10) and Flight (Fringe '09). He has also worked with Sig De Miguel and Stephen Vincent on feature films Rabbit Hole and Meskada.

John Ort, CSA (he/him) is a two-time Artios Award winner for Outstanding Achievement in Casting - most recently for his work as a Casting Director on the 2nd season of the short form series "State of the Union" for Sundance TV/AMC+, and previously as an Associate Casting Director for the first season of Netflix’s “Ozark.”

Credits include Will Gluck's comedy feature Anyone But You, Gareth Edwards’ sci-fi feature The Creator, the Miramax horror film The Home, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, the international series "The Swarm," the last 5 seasons of CBS's “Bull,” CBS’s “Tommy" starring Edie Falco, several Tom Hooper directed commercial film spots, VO for Gen-Z Media’s scripted podcasts, feature films My Hero, Love Island (Fire Island), Last Ferry and Anya, short films Dérive, The Water Song and Etymology, as well as the music video Evolution featuring SIREN.
